ALWAYS STEAL AND BORROW
and i know you (know you, know you)

Violet stood, purse with cash and credit cards in hand, the mall at her feet. Today was going to be the first time that she went shopping alone since that fateful day last February. Her subconscious sent a shiver down her spine, Vi shook her head once forcefully (not strong enough to mess her hair, though) to rid her mind of such thoughts. The mall had been the very place she had come to avoid that. Besides, what was the worst that could happen? Her father might block one of the charge cards? As if that would stop her. Violet had six of them, as well as two hundred dollars cash. Okay, well the cash might make her come up a bit short, especially since she splurged on nothing but the most expensive designer brands.
Vi pushed open the door and stepped into the stale, but violently cold air conditioned air of the shopping mall. She gave forth a small smile. Violet, as per usual, had decided to get an early start that day. It was only ten in the morning, and she knew that the vast majority of her peers were probably still snoring into their pillows. That just meant that there was more stuff for her to snatch up before the masses flocked to the mall. Vi didn't have anything particular in mind that she wanted, she just knew that she was going to buy something. Perhaps another addition to her extensive closet. Well there was that smart party her parents were going to be hosting next week, she would get a new cocktail dress, then. Her heels clicked on the polished floor, she stood up straight as she walked, looking (in her mind) flawless.
Violet looked at store after store, but just could not find anything that she just had to have. That dress was stumping her. "Remember your last Cosmo, Vi, or the summer 2010 Vogue." Violet muttered to herself, throwing another unsatisfactory dress across the dressing room. She pulled on the last of the thirteen dresses she had lugged into the fitting room with her, and had to cover her mouth to stop herself from squealing in delight. It was perfect, absolutely perfect. She loved the color, it was what she liked to call peacock blue. And the beading at the bust, oh it was divine. Vi had just the accessories to go with it too. This was it. Looking in the mirror, she frowned at herself, in her happiness she had smudged her lipstick.
She put on her own clothes and paused before the mirror to apply a fresh coat of color to her lips, then marched from the dressing room (leaving the rejects behind) to pay for her newfound treasure. The cashier rang her up with one of the credit cards, a total of $234.75. Vi thanked the cashier politely, and then decided that she was going to stop and get herself one of the esteemed mall pretzels before heading to another store. Coming out of the shop, she tripped, quite ungracefully, over her own two feet, and barely avoided crashing into a body. When she regained her balance, she straightened up. "Sorry!" Vi said, looking up at a familiar face.
